Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka is a British-American musician and sitarist. She was the first woman of her generation to be awarded the British House of Commons Staff. Anoushka Shankar is an emerging young star of sitar music. Indian sitar. She's the daughter of Ravi Shankar and a former student. She spent her childhood bouncing back and forth from London in the UK to New Delhi. Her debut performance was in New Delhi when she was just 13 years old. Later she moved to Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Even though she's very young, Anouskha is an accomplished performer and recording career. She has been performing with her father in the stage for a long time. She released her debut album in 1998. dropped Anourag as her first album as a solo artist. The Grammy Award-winning live at Carnegie Hall was released two years after her debut solo album. Since she's performed at all the major stages in all over the globe, her career on stage has been expansive. The career of Anoushka doesn't only comprise music. In 2002 she published an autobiography titled Bapi The Love of My Live this is a pictorial biography which pays special respect to her dad Ravi Shankar. In 2003, she starred as a character in Dance Like a Man as the Bharat Natyam dancer. Anoushka is continuing to advance in her career and there will be many other things to be expected from this talented woman. Anoushka Shakar, born in England spent a large part of her life between London Delhi. Following her move to California she graduated from her high school. At the age of nine, she started studying music with her father, who made her debut with the sitar four years later, at his 75th birthday celebration in Delhi. Anoushka performed with her father on his worldwide tour, gained an impressive quantity of knowledge. In her teenage years she performed at Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD and recorded alongside George Harrison. In recognition of being one of the top musicians in Asian Arts, she was presented with the House of Commons Shield by British parliament.
