Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman is Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She has been widely recognized as a pioneer in the field of child witnesses and eyewitness memories within legal contexts. The number of publications by Professor Goodman is extensive and she has been awarded numerous grants and has been the recipient of many honors both national and internationally. She has worked with a variety of governments and organizations around the globe on research and policies relating to children who have been victims of the legal system. She serves as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She holds memberships in many professional associations, including the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is also a part of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding Member) International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She served as president of the American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division division, Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Child and Family Policies and Practice.
