Taylor Swift is Taylor Alison Swift. Taylor Swift was born on 13 December 1989 in West Reading, Pennsylvania. Swift has been a singer/songwriter from the pop/country genre for the past 20 years. Her tales about romantic love in the midst of heartbreak and young love have gained her widespread popularity throughout the 21st century. Swift was interested in music from an early stage of her life. She quickly moved up in the ranks, beginning by playing roles in the theater for children and eventually singing in front of an audience of thousands. Swift began writing music at the age of 11. She sang The Star-Spangled Banner for a Philadelphia 76ers game. Swift had taken her influences from the music of Shania Twain as well as her band the Dixie Chicks now known as The Chicks in the world of country music, composed the songs of her own to convey her feelings of alienation. Swift's parents moved her to Tennessee when she was thirteen after they sold their Pennsylvania farm. It allowed Swift to be more active in trying to find labels that would promote country music in Nashville.
